What is a Graded Appliance

Graded items, sometimes called “seconds” or A/B grade stock, are brand new items that have been returned to the original manufacturer.

There are many possible reasons for this: from items not working, to damage occurring to the packaging within the manufacturer’s supply chain or even simple delivery errors. In many cases, it can be hard to distinguish a graded stock item from a perfect one.Hide

Once purchased directly from the manufacturer, we put an appliance through an exhaustive quality control programme in our workshops. We correct any technical faults so that it functions like new, and we ensure that any remaining imperfections are purely cosmetic. Only when an item has been thoroughly tested in this way and we are completely satisfied that it functions as it should, do we grade it according to the cosmetic imperfection.

Critically, all graded items are protected by the original manufacturer’s warranty covering their functionality (but not their appearance). This means that if an item breaks down within the warranty period, the manufacturer will honour the terms of the warranty.

Checklist for buying graded stock from us:

  • A graded item functions like new, but is not brand new and is not perfect.
  • A graded item will show cosmetic imperfections.
  • We describe these imperfections accurately and fairly, so that you know exactly what you are buying.
  • A graded item will cost substantially less than the same item brand new.
  • A graded stock item is protected by the original manufacturer’s warranty for its functionality.
  • A graded stock item is not protected by the original manufacturer’s warranty for its appearance.

What is a Recondition/Refurbished Appliance

Second hand we pride ourselves on doing the right thing by putting the best of these items back onto the market for a ‘NewLife’! When a re-use machine comes into our workshop we don’t have any information on its history, so we can’t be certain how old it is or what, if anything was wrong. What we can tell you is that every machine that passes through our workshop is PAT tested to ensure it is electrically safe, function tested by qualified engineers to make sure all the buttons & function work, and then valeted to ensure the machine looks and feels its absolute best both inside and out. Total reassurance on your rejuvenated appliance. Plus will also come with the manual
